How SafetyLM works

The knowledge, the checks and the safeguards behind every answer

  1. Knowledge BaseA senior practitioner's knowledge base, public guidance from regulators and industry bodies, and notes SafetyLM wrote in its own words: more than 30,000 passages from 338 documents. Every answer lists the passages it drew on, with their publishers.
  2. JurisdictionChoose the Commonwealth, a state or territory, or New Zealand before you ask. Victoria's OHS Act and New Zealand's HSWA are flagged, and Western Australia's harmonisation date is noted.
  3. The AgentFor each question it decides what's needed: a search of the knowledge base, a check of the web when the answer may have changed, a read of your document, or a calculation such as an injury frequency rate. A second pass reads each answer before you see it.
  4. Guided TasksGuided tasks across review, investigate, build, brief and audit, each starting from the structure an experienced practitioner would use, with more on the way.
  5. Citation CheckEvery section, regulation and clause an answer cites is matched against the passages it drew on. Matches are marked found in the sources; the rest are shown as not found, to treat as unverified until you check.
  6. The RefusalIf the law, the guidance or a figure can't be backed by its sources, SafetyLM declines rather than estimate. Where it holds no verified penalty figure, the question is declined before any model runs, in every mode. The figures it does hold carry the date they were checked, and one more than six months old fails our release checks.
  7. PrivacyData is stored locally in Australia, attached documents are read in your browser and never stored, and your data is never used to train our AI models.

What it does

Computed, not requested

The rules that matter most run in the system itself, outside the model. A penalty question for a jurisdiction without a held value is declined before any model runs, and every section an answer cites is checked against the retrieved sources in code, not left to the model.

Shown, not hidden

What SafetyLM checked travels with every answer: the sections found in the sources, any that weren't, and dated penalty figures. The same checks go into the Word file you export, and into the copy you paste whenever something needs your attention.

Seven layers behind every answer.

  1. Ask

Choose your jurisdiction and ask in your own words, or start from a guided task.

  2. Search

It searches the knowledge base, and the web when a truthful answer depends on what may have changed.

  3. Check

A second pass reads each answer before you see it, and every cited section is checked against the sources.

  4. Answer

You get the answer, the passages behind it and what was checked, ready to copy or export to Word.

Knowledge Base

Context you can open.

A senior practitioner's knowledge base, public guidance from regulators and industry bodies, and notes SafetyLM wrote in its own words: more than 30,000 passages from 338 documents. Every answer lists the passages it drew on, with their publishers.

Jurisdiction

The right law, chosen first.

Choose the Commonwealth, a state or territory, or New Zealand before you ask. Victoria's OHS Act and New Zealand's HSWA are flagged, and Western Australia's harmonisation date is noted.

The Agent

It does the legwork.

For each question it decides what's needed: a search of the knowledge base, a check of the web when the answer may have changed, a read of your document, or a calculation such as an injury frequency rate. A second pass reads each answer before you see it.

Guided Tasks

The work, already structured.

Guided tasks across review, investigate, build, brief and audit, each starting from the structure an experienced practitioner would use, with more on the way.

Citation Check

Checked against the sources.

Every section, regulation and clause an answer cites is matched against the passages it drew on. Matches are marked found in the sources; the rest are shown as not found, to treat as unverified until you check.

The Refusal

Declined, never estimated.

If the law, the guidance or a figure can't be backed by its sources, SafetyLM declines rather than estimate. Where it holds no verified penalty figure, the question is declined before any model runs, in every mode. The figures it does hold carry the date they were checked, and one more than six months old fails our release checks.

Privacy

Yours, and kept that way.

Data is stored locally in Australia, attached documents are read in your browser and never stored, and your data is never used to train our AI models.

Stored Locally in Australia

Your data is kept in your account in Australia, behind row-level security.

Never Used to Train Our AI Models

Your questions, documents and chats are never used to train our AI models, and we never sell them.

Documents Stay With You

An attached document is read in your browser and sent only with your question. It is never stored.

Declined, Never Estimated

If the law, the guidance or a figure can't be backed by its sources, SafetyLM declines, often before the model even runs.

Australian Privacy Principles

We apply them whether or not the Privacy Act requires it.

One assistant

Questions, guided tasks and document review all run through the same knowledge, jurisdiction and checks.

Dated, not assumed

Penalty figures carry the date they were checked. SafetyLM never asserts that a provision is current.

Private by design

Data stored locally in Australia, documents never stored, and never used to train our AI models.
