Jurisdictions

Ten jurisdictions, chosen before you ask

What it does

No silent default

The jurisdiction reads Choose jurisdiction until you pick one, so an answer never quietly assumes the wrong law. Victoria's own Act and New Zealand's HSWA are flagged wherever they differ from the model laws, and New Zealand guidance is never mixed with Australia's.

Ask again elsewhere

A declined penalty question offers to ask the same question for another jurisdiction, with links to the regulator and the legislation register so you can check the Act yourself. Where SafetyLM holds a dated penalty unit value, the figure appears with the date it was checked.

The right law, with its date.

  1. Ask

Choose your jurisdiction and ask in your own words, or start from a guided task.

  2. Search

It searches the knowledge base, and the web when a truthful answer depends on what may have changed.

  3. Check

A second pass reads each answer before you see it, and every cited section is checked against the sources.

  4. Answer

You get the answer, the passages behind it and what was checked, ready to copy or export to Word.

Victoria, flagged

Victoria runs its own OHS Act 2004. SafetyLM says so whenever Victoria is chosen.

Penalty figures, dated

Each penalty unit value carries the date it was verified. A figure more than six months old fails our release checks.

Declined where unknown

Where no verified figure is held, a penalty question is declined and points you to the regulator.
