Guided Tasks

The work practitioners do every week, already structured

What it does

Start from a structure

Each task begins from the shape an experienced practitioner would use, so the first draft is already organised: a SWMS review in the document's own order, an ICAM investigation from first account to contributing factors, a board paper on one page a director can act on.

Add what's yours

Add the site, the hazard, the incident or the document, and SafetyLM works through it with the sources in view. A task fills the question box first and nothing is sent until you press Send, so you can shape the request; the review tasks need a document attached.

Every task, one way of working.

  1. Pick a task

Choose a task from review, investigate, build, brief or audit, or ask in your own words.

  2. Add your detail

Add the site, the hazard, the incident or the document. Review tasks ask for the document first.

  3. Check the sources

Every cited section is checked against the passages the answer drew on.

  4. Take it to Word

Export the draft to Word with the checks attached, or copy it straight into your own template.

Review

Read a document the way an experienced reviewer would.

  • Review a SWMSGaps, weak controls and what good looks like, in the document's own order.
  • Check a JSAIs every step's hazard and control there, and does it match how the job is actually done?
  • Review a procedureDoes it say how the work is really done, and could a new starter follow it?

Investigate

Structure an investigation from the first account to the actions.

  • Structure an ICAM investigationFrom a first account to contributing factors and actions mapped to each.

Build

Draft the documents a site runs on.

  • Draft a WHS management planAn outline for a project or site, with what each section must say and who owns it.
  • Toolbox talkA 10 to 15 minute facilitated discussion guide, not a lecture.
  • Safety alertOne page, under 250 words: what happened, what we learned, what to do.

Brief

Prepare the people who carry the duty.

  • Critical risk briefingOne critical risk: how it kills, the controls that matter, and what to check.
  • Officer due diligence briefingWhat an officer must do, what to ask for, and what the evidence looks like.
  • Prepare for an inspector visitBefore, during and after: rights, obligations, what to have ready, what not to do.
  • Board paperOne page a director can act on: the decision sought, the position, the risk in business terms.

Audit

Plan, run and record an audit.

  • Audit checklistCriteria with their source, the evidence that shows conformance, the questions to ask.
  • Evidence requestWhat to ask the auditee for, why, for which period, and in what form.
  • Findings registerAudit notes turned into classified findings with evidence, risk and an owner.

A practitioner's structure

Each task follows the order an experienced practitioner works in, not a generic template.

For your jurisdiction

Every task runs against the jurisdiction you chose, with Victoria and New Zealand flagged.

On paid plans

Task templates and Word export come with Practitioner, Practitioner Max and Teams.

Document Review

Attach a SWMS, JSA, procedure or report. What the document cites is kept apart from what the sources confirm.

Citation Check

Every section an answer cites is checked against the passages it drew on. What isn't found is shown, not hidden.
